A tiny window for your tired lungs

For the days when your breathing is shallow and the air inside feels a little too still.

A tiny window for your tired lungs

Hi, this is Lily 🌼 An artist who today is looking inside the lungs.

🌿 Symptom as Painting
Title:
What does fatigue look like in my imagination?
Image: Lungs as a greenhouse without fresh air, flowers heavy, the air “stale.”

It feels like you’re breathing only “halfway”: the inhale is shallow, the exhale just as short, and inside it’s like a stuffy room with no windows. You spend the whole day indoors, in front of a screen, the air feels the same, your head gets heavier, and your thoughts slow down. It’s as if your inner greenhouse has been asking you to crack a window open for a long time, but you keep postponing it for “later.”

This often happens when there is little movement in your life and a lot of sitting and screen time, with stress tightening your shoulders and chest. When your sleep is fragmented, your body doesn’t have time to recover, and the lungs switch to “economy mode” instead of free, deep breathing. This is not about being “weak,” it is about a system that has been carrying an overloaded day for too long.

On a scale from 1 to 5: how “stifled” does your breathing feel lately? Write your number — in the comments I’ll share a tiny deep‑breath idea for each level. 🌿
