When your gut whispers “please slow down”
If your meals turned into background noise, this email is a pause button.
Hi, this is Lily. Today, the floor goes to an organ we rarely think of tenderly — the intestines. 🌿
Letter from an Organ
I am your intestine. You feed me on the go, between meetings, with your phone in your hands… I’m trying to keep up with everything, but I’m missing quiet and rhythm. I’m not angry and I’m not “dramatic” — I just get lost in your pace, where food has become background noise instead of a moment of meeting yourself.

When you snack standing up, finish your meal in three minutes while scrolling, and swallow almost without chewing — I work like on a conveyor belt with no pauses. Stress tightens your belly from the inside, blood rushes more to tasks and screens than to digestion, and it becomes harder for me to turn food into strength and calm. Hurry doesn’t make you “bad,” but it steals my chance to work gently, in waves instead of jolts. I’m not asking for a perfect menu — I’m asking for a little space.
Today your intestine is offering three tiny rituals:
1 — one meal without a screen;
2 — 5 slow sips of water before you eat;
3 — a 2‑minute pause after eating, just sitting.
Write the number you’re taking with you — I’m very curious what our little gallery of living intestines will choose. 🌱
